Review VFX assets & cinematics and provide feedback for internal and external VFX teams
Have ownership of features; blood & gore, cloaking tech, water tech & PBR materials.
Advocated for Accessibility VFX and worked with accessibility teams to implement VFX.
Document VFX features & best practices to help team workflows.
Stay updated with latest tech trends and request new features from the Core team to improve VFX tools and pipeline for artists.
Help & mentor teammates in regards to tools, VFX, materials, scripting, etc.
Represent VFX and help lead strike teams in assessing risks & mitigating tasks.
Review VFX profiling and optimize VFX assets to stay within budget without sacrificing quality either within particle engines or shaders to reduce VFX costs.
Create hand-painted textures for various effects including blood, smoke, ash.
Tag animations with fx for cinematics, IGCs, and melee finishers.
Work closely with combat designers to script custom particles for specific moves for systemic melee combat.
Work closely with the character team and VFX programmer to collaborate on blood and gore for characters across the game and for bespoke cinematics/IGCs. Handled VFX for boss fights: brute & ratking to name a few.
Create particles using in-house tools in Maya, proprietary tools, photoshop, and after effects.
Create and maintain particle assets and shaders that other artists may use.
Help other VFX artists and other departments when coming across complex issues and any work needed for their levels.
Understanding of optimizing particles and textures for better performance.
Assist the Lead UI/UX Designer to create UI assets for gameplay
Design and animate UI widget assets
Works closely with programmers to ensure assets are implemented into the game
Veteran tester encompassing allocating tasks to testers and managing tasks from initiation to completion
Detects software defects and reports issues within an in-house defect tracking database
Reviews German language in software and ensures translations are implemented
